Kanbar Supports Collaboratorium
Kanbar Properties, owner of the 111 W 5th Building in Downtown Tulsa, recently announced the donation of building space to support the start-up of the Collaboratorium, a non-traditional entrepreneurial resource center. This “Tulsa Unique” Collab-oratorium will serve bootstrap entrepreneurs that do not fit the traditional business development models by accelerating their opportunities for business success within the Tulsa community.
“We are creating an environment that supports entrepreneurs,” says Mayor Kathy Taylor. “The Collaboratorium is a place for Tulsa entrepreneurs with a non-traditional niche to gain the flexible support they need to grow successful businesses.”
Coming in 2009, the Collaboratorium will provide entrepreneurs with office space at a discounted price, shared conference rooms, coaching opportunities, connections to entrepreneurial networks, along with access to the types of resources that encourage entrepreneurial actions and success. The winner of the 2008 Mayor’s Tulsa Entrepreneurial Spirit Award will receive office space at no charge during the first year in the Collaboratorium.
“There never has been a better time in history to be an entrepreneur,” says Maurice Kanbar. “I am enthusiastic to play a small role in helping to grow entrepreneurs in Tulsa through the donation of building space and acting as a catalyst in the start-up of the Collaboratorium.”
The Collaboratorium is scheduled to open in 2009. For more information on The Tulsa Collaboratorium, visit www.tulsacollab.com.
