Kansas Women’s Basketball Rings In 2011 With Holiday Hoops Clinic
LAWRENCE, Kan. — Over 300 kids and parents attended the University of Kansas women’s basketball Holiday Hoops Clinic on Saturday afternoon. The kids, with some of their parents taking up the invitation to join them, spent New Year’s Day with the KU women’s basketball team.
Kindergarten through eighth graders participated in drills with current KU players and coaches on Naismith Court in Allen Fieldhouse and the brand new practice facility court. Participants rotated through seven stations that included instruction on passing, shooting, dribbling and defense. The two hour clinic concluded with an autograph and picture session with KU players.
The Jayhawks, who are 12-1 on the season, open the 2011 portion of their schedule on Monday, Jan. 3, when play host to at 7 p.m., in Allen Fieldhouse with a live broadcast on Metro Sports. Kansas will then open Big 12 Conference play at home versus Texas Tech on Saturday, Jan. 8 with a 7 p.m., tip-off in Allen Fieldhouse. The KU- game will also be broadcast live on Metro Sports.
