KJRH 2 Announces New Weekend Evening Anchor Team


TULSA – 2 Works for You is pleased to announce the promotion of two reporters and the addition of a new meteorologist to anchor the 2NEWS weekend evening newscasts.

Starting Saturday January 30th, Jason Grubbs will anchor 2NEWS at 5pm, 6pm and 10pm on Saturday evenings, and Marla Carter will anchor 2NEWS at 5pm and 10pm on Sunday evenings.
2 Works for You also welcomes Meteorologist Andy Wallace to the 2 Works for You Weather team and weekend evening newscasts.

Andy joins Chief Meteorologist Dan Threlkeld and Meteorologists Julie Chin and George Flickinger on the 2 Works for You Weather team. He joins 2 Works for You from in Fort Smith, AR and is studying for his masters degree in Communication. Andy was also a meteorologist at in Oklahoma City and a Chief Meteorologist in Waco, TX and Lawton, OK. Andy will appear weekend evenings with 2NEWS Anchors Jason Grubbs and Marla Carter starting this weekend.

Jason Grubbs got his start in the business as a news producer in the Wichita Falls/Lawton market in 1998 and was also a news producer in Oklahoma City (), Tulsa () and Dallas () before he made his career change to be in front of the camera. In 2005, Jason became the weekend evening anchor at in Tyler, TX. Jason returned to Tulsa and 2NEWS in 2007 as a 2NEWS at 10pm reporter.

Marla Carter joined 2NEWS in March of 2007 as an investigative reporter. Marla started her career at the affiliate in Columbia, MO and after that she worked at in Topeka, KS for more than three years.

Marla was awarded for her investigative reporting at both jobs by the Missouri Association of Broadcasters and the Kansas Association of Broadcasters respectively. Marla graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Journalism.
