The video submission deadline for Kristin Chenoweth’s fourth-annual Broadway Boot Camp is Friday, Feb. 16. The open casting call is for students who are currently in grades 8-11 and are Oklahoma residents.
Students must prepare one musical theatre piece that is no longer than one minute in length and a one-minute dramatic monologue. A performance resume, audition application and headshot are also requested.
A limited number of slots are available and the cost to attend the camp is $300.
Broadway Boot Camp will take place June 10-16 at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center (BAPAC) in downtown Broken Arrow. The camp will teach audition techniques, stage movement and will include one-on-one direct instruction from Broadway, film and stage industry professionals.
Two students from the boot camp will be chosen to attend the Oklahoma City University High School Musical Theatre Camp in July for three weeks with all tuition waived.
Last year’s camp saw 45 students working with Broadway, film and stage industry professionals, including Tony Award winners Faith Prince (“Guys and Dolls”) and Baayork Lee (original cast of “A Chorus Line”), Richard Jay-Alexander (producer and director), Lara Teeter, Michael Orland, John Tartaglia, Matt Berman, Mary Mitchell-Campbell, and Chenoweth. The camp started with a Tony Awards show watch party and concluded with a public performance by students and instructors.
Camp applications are available at brokenarrowpac.com and must be turned in by Feb. 16, by 5 p.m. For more information, visit brokenarrowpac.com, or call 918-259-5723.
