KUDOS OF THE MONTH: TTCU for 75 Years
In 1934 in the desk drawer of Linnie B. Wilson at Tulsa’s Central High School, Tulsa Teachers Credit Union was formed. The credit union was formed to serve the teachers of Tulsa Public Schools and primarily offered loans for items such as business suits for teachers.
Today, 75 years later, The Credit Union is the largest state-chartered credit union in Oklahoma with 12 branches, five in Tulsa, one each in Bixby, Broken Arrow, Claremore, Jenks, Muskogee, Owasso and Tahlequah. serves nearly 80,000 members who are teachers, school faculty, administrators, staff, students and their families in all of Northeastern Oklahoma as well as more than 400 employee groups with a full complement of depository, lending and financial advisory services.
pioneered the School Pride® Visa Check Card program offering high school logo check cards. The School Pride® program donates money to the school on each card for each transaction that is made using a card. In the first 18 months of the program has donated more than $35,000 to these schools.
also offers a Member Rewards program where they reward their members for using the services of the credit union with free services and bonus cash rewards. The rewards are based on not only the deposit balances of a member, but also the loan balances. The future is bright for .
