KUDOS OF THE MONTH: Tulsa Community College
Tulsa Community College has made a great impact on the area since 1970. With the mission of bettering the community through intellectual achievement, creative energy and responsible citizenship, the college continues to remain strong and move forward in 2011.
This year, more than 20,000 enrolled students are creating the largest enrollment in the history of the college. President Dr. Thomas McKeon notes that for the second consecutive year, Tulsa Community College has recorded the largest freshmen class in the state of Oklahoma.
With so many students, it is to no surprise that Tulsa Community College has awarded 50,541 degrees over the past 41 years. In addition, says McKeon, the college has ranked nationally for the Honors Program, with over 1,000 students participating in honors courses throughout the year.
According to Community College Week, Tulsa Community College is also a national leader in education, business and health graduates. McKeon concludes that Tulsa Community College may be summed up in two words: premiere college.
