KUDOS OF THE MONTH: ONEOK for 100 Years

Headquartered in Tulsa, ONEOK, one of the nation’s largest diversified energy companies, celebrated its Centennial in over 76 locations nationwide in October. At ONEOK Plaza in downtown Tulsa, employees enjoyed a lunchtime barbeque – complete with the music of the Blue Flame Band.

The highlight of the Centennial was a companywide live satellite broadcast hosted by Chairman, President and CEO David Kyle. The hour-long broadcast that reached over 4,500 employees across 17 states included a proclamation from Governor Brad Henry, proclaiming October 12, 2006 “ONEOK Day” in Oklahoma. Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor attended the broadcast and presented a proclamation on behalf of the City of Tulsa.

It’s been a year of achievement for ONEOK: the company occupies position 176 on the Fortune 500 list, and in September it appeared on Fortune’s list of 100 of the fastest-growing companies in the nation.

“It’s an honor to be recognized among the nation’s fastest-growing companies,” Kyle said. “We have had a commitment to grow the company and create value for our shareholders, and it is certainly gratifying that we are now being recognized in this manner.

“This is quite an accomplishment for all employees and I am sure they are proud of this honor. Without their dedication and commitment, our success is not possible,” he stated.

In February of this year, ONEOK was named one of Fortune Magazine’s most- admired companies. “To receive the fastest-growing and most-admired company recognition in the same year, our centennial year, makes 2006 especially meaningful,” added Kyle. “And as we move ahead, I’m confident that the future will continue to bring great things to ONEOK.”
