Lamsons Play Ball for American Lung Association
GREAT TEAM: Leigh and Chuck Lamson served as honorary chairs for this year’s American Lung Association’s Beaujolais Nouveau. Chuck Lamson is the owner of the Tulsa Drillers baseball team, and he is also a long-time supporter of the ALA.
The American Lung Association’s Beaujolais Nouveau, held Nov. 20 at Southern Hills Country Club, hit record sponsorship numbers.
Co-chairs Sarah Dougherty and Sarah Stewart were pleased to have Leigh and Chuck Lamson join the all-star committee as honorary chairs for the 2009 event.
“The Lamsons have been veteran supporters of American Lung Association and the Beaujolais Nouveau event. We were thrilled to honor them. They helped us knock it out of the park,” says co-chair Sarah Stewart.
The Lamsons said they were equally excited to be a part of the Beaujolais Nouveau team. “We were delighted to serve on the Beaujolais team. Both of our children suffer from asthma and we know the research and programs the American Lung Association provides are so critical to the Tulsa community,” says Leigh Lamson.
“The Tulsa Drillers organization has partnered with American Lung Association for over ten years. We appreciate knowing the funds raised from this event stay in the Tulsa metro area and directly affect all Tulsa area residents,” says Chuck Lamson.
The gala celebrates the arrival of the exclusive Beaujolais Nouveau wine. In addition to a first sip of the Beaujolais Nouveau, which promises a year of good luck, guests enjoyed an enchanting evening of Chef Devin Levine’s cuisine paired with an extensive selection of wines from around the world.
Live and silent auctions also highlighted the evening.
Sponsors included Hall Estill, the Tulsa Drillers, Saint Francis Health System, Williams, Citizens Security Bank, George Kaiser Family Foundation, Barbara & Dr. Stan Grogg, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa, Lobeck Taylor Foundation, Sandy & John Stava, The Trust Company of Oklahoma, Arvest Private Bank and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma, among many others.
