In July, Glenpool city officials welcomed to the city what will become the largest Chevrolet dealership in Oklahoma.

Mark Allen Chevrolet recently broke ground at Highway 75 near 166th Street in Glenpool and is the first business to locate in the city’s Tax Increment Finance () district that was formed last year.

The dealership will sit on close to 40 acres and will include 70,000 square feet of buildings. Owner Mark Allen said that the location “will eventually add more than 100 new jobs to Glenpool and provide customers with an on-site inventory of more than 1,000 vehicles.”

Allen expects the dealership to open in less than a year.

Glenpool officials worked with site developer Ford Development of Dallas to put together the necessary infrastructure plans to solve development challenges.

“It’s been a part of our long-term plan to pull Glenpool development further south along Highway 75, and we’re excited to be able to welcome a significant business like Mark Allen Chevrolet to our community,” said Glenpool Mayor Tim Fox.

“Together with the other development projects underway in Glenpool, like the St. Francis MedPlex and the Glenpool Soccer Complex, it’s proof that Glenpool continues to be a great place to live, work, and play,“ he continued.

Construction for the dealership is being handled by Speed Fab-Crete Corporation out of Texas, with Callahan & Freeman Architects as the architects.
