Leadership Institute Announces Scholarship Recipients
OWASSO, Okla. – The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center has named its scholarship recipients for the 2010 Academy for Educational Excellence; among them is Mark Delaney, Owasso resident and Lincoln Christian School Junior High Bible Teacher in Tulsa.
Delaney will attend a four-day seminar, June 7-10, taught by renowned scholar Dr. J. Rufus Fears, a three-time OU Professor of the Year and the Heritage Center’s Scholar in Residence. The course is designed to assist educators in integrating lessons of leadership, based on historical role models, into their own curriculum. Military and industry leaders will also lecture during the week.
“The students that I teach are very gifted and capable,” Delaney said. “I think it is important that they understand the responsibility of providing leadership to their generation; I am looking forward to attending this conference and learning how to teach them to prepare for that leadership.”
Delaney is a graduate of L.I.F.E. Bible College and holds a degree in theology.
