Leadership Oklahoma Gala Coming to Southern Hills

DINNER TASTING: Honorary Gala Co-Chairs Stuart and Dana Solomon met recently with Southern Hills Country Club Chef Devin Levine to discuss the menu and the upcoming Leadership Oklahoma event.


Leadership Oklahoma will host the 2007 Excellence in Leadership Awards Dinner and Gala Feb. 17 at the newly renovated Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa.

Event Chairs Cathy and Michael Render and Stuart and Dana Solomon are coordinating a special evening. Among those in attendance will be Honorary Chairs Sam and Rita Combs, fellow classmates, colleagues and acquaintances to honor an outstanding group of Excellence in Leadership honorees. This year, Leadership Oklahoma will recognize the following award winners: David L. Boren, Lifetime Achievement; Sharon King Davis, Distinguished Graduate; Devon Energy Corporation, Business Leadership; and Oklahoma Academy for State Goals, Statewide Community.

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception then dinner in the beautiful new ballroom along with the awards presentation. Mid Life Crisis, a popular Tulsa band, will provide music to “dance the night away.” Special overnight arrangements for those coming from our of town are offered at the DoubleTree at Warren Place.

The mission of Leadership Oklahoma is to create a dynamic network of leaders whose increased awareness and commitment to service will energize Oklahomans to shape Oklahoma’s future. As a result of their contributions, Leadership Oklahoma will help Oklahoma sustain a strong diversified economy, provide quality career opportunities for its citizens, and create an increasingly attractive quality of life.

Each year, Leadership Oklahoma brings together 50 of the state’s most outstanding leaders for 10 issues-oriented sessions that address critical challenges facing the state. The goal is to tap the energies of those leaders to initiate positive change for the benefit of all Oklahomans. Participants are chosen through a rigorous application process and selected from across the state to represent Oklahoma’s professional, geographical, and cultural diversity. Each person must demonstrate a dedication to Oklahoma’s progress and the ability to exercise leadership in recognizing and resolving issues of statewide significance.
