Legendary Band Foreigner Coming to Tulsa

FAMILIAR ROCK: Legendary rock band Foreigner is set to play The Joint on Dec. 4.
After 25 years and more than 70 million albums sold worldwide, Foreigner is set to rock The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa on Dec. 4.
Tickets start at $40 and go on sale on Oct. 14.
Led by guitarist Mick Jones, Foreigner has released nine studio albums with seven charting in the top 30 of the Billboard 200. The band has also charted 23 songs on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 charts, including the top five hits “Feels Like the First Time,” “Hot Blooded,” “Double Vision,” “Urgent,” “Waiting for a Girl Like You” and “I Want to Know What Love Is,” which peaked at No. 1.
Foreigner found instant success in 1977, when the band’s self-titled debut sold more than four million copies and went platinum five times. The following year, the band sold an additional five million records when “Double Vision” was released, going platinum seven times.
The band’s fourth release, 1981’s “4,” proved to be Foreigner’s biggest hit, becoming its only album to peak at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, go platinum six times and go gold in the United Kingdom.
The album featured numerous hit singles, including five tracks on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and three on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. The single “Juke Box Hero” not only charted in the top five of the Mainstream Rock charts, but in recent years has continued to be a popular song for younger generations after being featured on the video games Rock Band and Guitar Hero : Legends of Rock.
In 1988, Foreigner headlined Atlantic Records’ 40th anniversary, and in 2007 joined Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings, and Paolo Nutini as openers for the special engagement Led Zeppelin reunion show in honor of Atlantic Records’ founder Ahmet Ertegun.
Foreigner is currently touring in support of its 2009 album, “Can’t Slow Down.”
