The Tulsa Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the Tulsa Hotel and Lodging Association recently celebrated “See American Week” and honored local business people who made an impact on the local economy by bringing meetings and events to Tulsa.

In its 15th year, the Local Hero program remains an important part of the Tulsa CVB recruitment effort for future conventions. This year the Bureau honored eight local citizens who, by working to place their group’s meeting in Tulsa, impacted the economy of Tulsa over $6 million in delegate and attendee expenditures.
The Local Heroes luncheon was presented by Miss Helen’s Private School.

“We hope more citizens will think about ways they can assist us in attracting more visitors to the community and join us in telling the good news about their hometown,” Tulsa CVB Senior Vice President Suzann Stewart said.
