Lost Highway’s Ryan Bingham and Hayes Carll Receive Top Nominations for 2010 Americana Music Awards
NASHVILLE – Lost Highway recording artists Ryan Bingham & Hayes Carll havereceived nominations in top categories for the 9th Annual Americana Music Association Honors & Awards.
Ryan Bingham was nominated for ARTIST OF THE YEAR, NEW/EMERGING ARIST OF THE YEAR and his song “The Weary Kind (Theme From Crazy Heart)” was nominated for SONG OF THE YEAR. Bingham co-wrote “The Weary Kind” with T Bone Burnett. The two won the Academy Award for Best Original Song for the “The Weary Kind (Theme From Crazy Heart)” at the 82nd Academy Awardceremonies held earlier this year.
Hayes Carll was nominated for NEW/EMERGING ARTIST OF THE YEAR based on his 2008 Lost Highwaydebut, Trouble In Mind. Carll also received a nomination for SONG OF THE YEAR for co-writing “Drunken Poets Dream” performed by Ray Wylie Hubbard. The song originally appeared on Carll’s Trouble In Mind along with his 2008 AMA nominated SONG OF THE YEAR “She Left Me For Jesus.”
The Awards ceremony will be held in Nashville, TN on September 9 at the legendary Ryman Auditorium.
