Mardi Gras at Heberts

MARDI GRAS PARTY: Hebert’s Specialty Meats held a Mardi Gras Party on Feb. 8. Ed Richard, owner of Hebert’s, and his staff served delicious foods including chicken and sausage gumbo, crawfish etouffee, red beans and rice, corn manqué choux, beef and pork sausage, boudin, cream cheese with several pepper jellies and cracker varieties and fresh baked King Cakes. Beverages included soft drinks and Hurricane cocktails and beer. People came individually and in groups of up to 30. Pictured from left in the back row are Mardi Gras participants Kim Dunlap, Richard, Karen Ibison and Patrick Ibison. In front row from left are the Ibison daughters, Allie, Avery and Ainsley who are elementary students at All Saints Catholic School. The girls studied the meaning of Mardi Gras in school on Fat Tuesday. Ainsley holds a Mardi Gras float she made in her class. The Ibison family lives in Broken Arrow. Hebert’s Specialty Meats is located at 8130-E. S. Lewis in the Plaza Shopping Center. Hebert’s is famous for its authentic Cajun foods, including live crawfish and catering.
