Mart Green Discusses ORU at Forum

MART GREEN

The Tulsa Metro Chamber 2008-09 Education Forum Series presented an ORU update with Board Chair of the Board of Trustees Mart Green, Oct. 10 at the Tulsa Metro Chamber. He discussed the status and recent successes at ORU.

In 2007 ORU was selected for the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) Award for Institutional Progress in Student Learning Outcomes. Green’s family founded Hobby Lobby and Mardel supply stores. His retail career started at home with his parents. His dad had $600 to start Hobby Lobby and sold out of the living room. Hobby Lobby is now a chain of over 400 stores.

At the age of 19 he established Mardel Christian education and supply stores, which is headquartered in Oklahoma City and has 27 stores in six states. In January 2008 Green became the Board Chair of the Board of Trustees at ORU.
