Tulsa, OK., April 14, 2010 – Tulsa International Mayfest is seeking entries from area artists to participate in the Mayfest “Green” Gallery, which will feature art from repurposed, recycled and reused materials. The deadline for submissions has been extended to April 23, 2010.
The visual arts exhibition will be held in the Park Centre Lobby (6th & Main) during Tulsa International Mayfest, from Thursday May 13th- Sunday May 16th. There will be an opening reception on May 13th from 5-7 pm.
The “Green” Gallery was inspired by Mayfest’s move towards a more sustainable festival and Tulsa’s development of a more sustainable future. Art must be created from materials that have been repurposed, recycled or reused. Artists should write a short description of the origins and uses of their materials: creative material use is encouraged and expected.
Awards will be given for Best Use of Material and Best in Show. Artists may submit works in the following mediums: ceramics, clay, digital art, drawing, fiber, glass, graphics/printmaking, metal, mixed media, painting, pastel, photography, sculpture and wood. Please consider the limited gallery space when creating your submission – contact firstname.lastname@example.org with questions about the suitability of artwork size and weight.
All artwork submissions should be made via email, one image per email. Please put “Mayfest Green Gallery Submission” as the subject and provide artist name, phone number, email, title, media and price (if applicable) in the body of the email with each submission. Then, attach the image of your artwork to the email, no larger than 1 MB, and send to email@example.com. Please limit your submissions to two works.
