McLain, Hale and Rogers High Schools Place Nationally in Health
Tulsa Public Schools’ McLain, Hale, and Rogers high schools have placed nationally in the “Healthy High Schools Challenge” competition, sponsored by Sodexo. Each school will be the recipient of an award celebrating their success in serving healthy foods to students.
The “Healthy High School Challenge” is a national competition designed to help students learn about the importance of making healthy food choices. This year, 181 high schools across the United States participated in the challenge.
McLain finished third nationally in total healthy meals served and will receive $1,000 to help support the school community. Hale and Rogers both placed in the top 100 nationally and will each receive an award of $500.
“With our state ranking fifth nationally for childhood obesity, it is critical that good health and nutrition are part of each child’s learning experience,” said Superintendent Deborah A. Gist. “We are proud of McLain, Hale, and Rogers for their work to support young people in making healthy choices.”
