Medical Oncologist Joins Cancer Treatment Center
Cancer Treatment Centers of America () in Tulsa recently announced the addition of Issam Alawin, MD. An experienced medical oncologist who is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Alawin came to to be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides conventional treatments to fight cancer along with supportive therapies to manage cancer-related side effects, all under one roof.
Dr. Alawin earned a medical degree from the University of Jordan School of Medicine in Amman, Jordan. He completed an internship in general practice from Zarqa Governmental Hospital in Zarqa, Jordan, and an internal medicine residency at King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman, Jordan. He then moved to the United States to further his training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston by completing a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in oncology.
Prior to joining , he served as an oncologist in both outpatient and inpatient settings, and he has been a sub-investigator in numerous clinical trials. Dr. Alawin also teaches medical students and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
