Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor kicked off Mayor’s Mentoring Month: Mentoring to the Max Aug. 22 at Hawthorne Elementary.
Mayor Taylor, the Mayor’s office and other key supporters of the mentoring initiative include Bank of America, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma, Camp Fire USA, Community Service Council of Greater Tulsa, Junior Achievement, Junior League of Tulsa, Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence, Partners in Education, Resonance, Tulsa Public Schools and Union Public Schools. The Mayor’s Mentoring to the Max initiative is dedicated toward raising public awareness about the need for 100 or more mentors during the month of September. Mayor Taylor is challenging Tulsans to become mentors and make a positive difference in the lives of Tulsa’s kids and build a safer city.
