Military Center Hosts Visitors
SUICIDE AWARENESS: In September, Angel Bikers from across the country visited the Broken Arrow Military History Center in an effort to draw national attention to the high suicide rates among military veterans. The Blue Star Mothers of America, Broken Arrow Chapter 5, dressed in red, hosted the event that included Broken Arrow City Councilor Debra Wimpee, City Manager Michael Spurgeon and Brigadier General Tom Mancino (ret). Also in attendance were Oklahoma Congressman Mike Ritze, Knights of Columbus, Korean War veterans, Tulsa cadets, and Gene Roberts and Ted McElroy, with the American Legion.
