Millard House Appointed to Oklahoma Education Oversight Board

Millard L. House II, an area superintendent with Tulsa Public Schools, has been appointed to a vacant seat on the Oklahoma Education Oversight Board.

“I see it as an honor and a privilege to represent district one and Tulsa Public Schools in such a manner,” House said. “I look forward to assisting the oversight board in its quest to provide a quality educational experience to all students in the state of Oklahoma.”

House was appointed to the post by Senate President Pro Tem Glenn Coffee, R-Oklahoma City.

“He came highly recommended,” Coffee said.

“Millard is a rising star in Tulsa and Oklahoma education because of his passion for students,” said Dr. Keith Ballard, superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools. “We’re thrilled to have such an exemplary representative of the district on the Education Oversight Board. I know Millard’s service will greatly enhance education for students throughout the state.

The board meets nine times annually and makes recommendations to legislators concerning preschool through postsecondary learning, and governs the operation of the Office of Accountability, created in 1990 to gather education-related data.
