The Museum Broken Arrow to Release Interactive Children’s Book
Recently, The Museum Broken Arrow debuted a special children’s book, “Marmie: A Mouse on Main Street.”
Proceeds from the book will support the Museum and its programs.
Lori Lewis, historian and executive director of The Museum Broken Arrow, partnered with local writer Lynn Palmer and artist Janet Skates to create the interactive children’s book about a mouse named Marmie who lives in the Museum. The book features vintages photos of downtown Broken Arrow as well as a fully-illustrated map and legend that will guide readers on a historical walking tour of Main Street to find Marmie. Sculptures that coincide with the storyline will be placed along the touring route.
“Creating ‘Marmie: A Mouse on Main Street’ has been a wonderful experience, and we are thrilled to finally share this special project with our community,” says Lewis. “Not only is the book a fantastic opportunity to support the mission of the Museum, but children and families of all ages will enjoy the experience of interacting with Marmie’s journey while immersing themselves in the rich history of Broken Arrow.”

Admission to The Museum Broken Arrow is $5 per adult or $8 for two adults. Museum members and children under 18 receive free admission. Visitors can also view a series of permanent collections in the main gallery, telling the history of Broken Arrow and its residents.
The Museum Broken Arrow is a 501©3 non-profit organization located in downtown Broken Arrow near the site of the original Katy Train Depot. The Museum’s mission is to preserve the local history of the city and its residents and to serve as an educational opportunity for future generations. In addition to showcasing local history, the Museum also offers events, educational opportunities and facility rental. The Museum is open Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
