New Aquarium Exhibit Opens

FIRST ENCOUNTERS: The Oklahoma Aquarium opened its newest exhibit, Extreme Amazon, on Nov. 13. It offers visitors the opportunity to crawl under the tank and view Amazonian fish and iguanas through acrylic “pop up” bubbles.
It has always been the goal of the Oklahoma Aquarium to bring guests as close as possible to the wonders of aquatic life without getting too wet.
On Nov. 13, a new exhibit, Extreme Amazon, was officially dedicated and offers aquarium visitors an immersive experience like no other. Children and adults alike can crawl under the tank and view exotic Amazonian fish and iguanas through acrylic “pop up” bubbles, allowing individuals the opportunity to come face to face with all forms of aquatic life from under the water’s surface.
Extreme Amazon features fish native to the Amazon River and iguanas crawling on tree limbs, which replicate the natural habitat. The American Electric Power Foundation through Public Service Company of Oklahoma sponsored the exhibit.
