Oilers Aid Youth Hockey Association

When the heat hits its peak in July and August, kids can get some cool hockey lessons from the Tulsa Oilers.

Oilers players will be teaming up with Tulsa Youth Hockey Association for a “Learn to play Hockey Program” that will take place on four successive Saturdays starting July 17th at the Oilers Ice Center (64th and Mingo). The camps are for children 4 to 8 years old who have never played hockey with TYHA.

“This is grass roots hockey at the best and most fun level,” Oilers coach Bruce Ramsay said. “Teaching kids who’ve never played hockey how great of a game it is, is one of the things I’ve enjoyed most. I’m really looking forward to this and I know our players are too.”

Camp sessions will be from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. TYHA provides protective equipment and rental skates at no charge for the camp. Equipment is limited and based on participation.

For more information on the camp, contact Eric Lawless and (918) 845-3345 or email him atlawless01@live.comor visit the TYHA website atwww.tyha.com

The Oilers had the second highest point total increase in the CHL this season under head coach Bruce Ramsay, who was in his first season with the Oilers. They will have 32 home games at the BOK Center in the 2010-11 season.Season tickets for 2010-11 with plans for as low as $26 a month are now available by calling the Oilers office at 918-632-PUCK (7825).
