Oilers, Rampage Continue Partnerships

The Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League will continue their promotional partnership with the Tulsa Rampage of the Western States Hockey League.
The Rampage is a Jr. A team, the only Hockey certified junior hockey team in the state of Oklahoma. The Rampage will be entering its fourth season, playing its home games at the Oilers Ice Center, located at 64th and Mingo.

Oilers general manager Taylor Hall, and Julie Wilson, his counterpart with the Rampage know the promotions between the teams helps both organizations.
“The Rampage do a great job of helping hockey grow at a grass roots level. It’s amazing the job they’ve done in helping players move on to college and further their hockey careers. We may not be all that far away from seeing a former Rampage player in an Oiler uniform,” Hall said.

At this time, the Rampage has openings for families willing to serve as a host home for a player for the 2009-2010 season. The host family is provided a monthly stipend along with season tickets to all Tulsa Rampage home games and events. The players will arrive on August 22nd and will remain in Tulsa through the end of the season which occurs in mid to late March, with the exception of having breaks for the week of Thanksgiving and a break for Christmas and New Years as well.

According to Wilson, having players live in a family atmosphere is imperative for her team’s success. “We require very strict discipline from our players and having a player live with a host family helps foster that discipline,” she says. “It’s even better when it’s a family that already has a love for hockey because of the Oilers.”
Those interested in being Rampage host families should contact Wilson at the Rampage office number of 392-0550 or by email at Julie@tulsarampage.com.
Season tickets for the Oilers 2009-10 season in the Center are available by calling the Oilers at (918) 632- (7825).
