Oilers Announce Schools Day

It will be “Oily to rise” for the Tulsa Oilers for their game with the Youngstown SteelHounds on Tuesday February 7th.
The Oilers have announced that game will be Tulsa Public Schools day and the game with Youngstown will start at 10:30 a.m.

“This is a great partnership with the Tulsa Public Schools,” Oilers general manager Corey MacIntyre said. “With the school kids getting free tickets, there are a lot of things they can take from the game about physical fitness and teamwork. Plus having that kind of enthusiasm will really give us a huge advantage that day.”

MacIntyre noted this type of relationship has had great success for other Central Hockey League teams and their local school districts. Because of the school district promotion for the February 7th game, the Oilers will not be holding their QuikTrip Tuesday promotion for that game. The QuikTrip Tuesday promotion will be in effect the remaining Tuesdays of the year.
MacIntyre also said season ticket holders who may not be able to attend the game because of the early start time will be compensated.

“Obviously our season ticket holders are our most important customers, and we want to be sure to take care of them if they can’t make the 10:30 game.

But we also feel most of these students may not have this opportunity or the means otherwise, and we want to give them a chance to experience Oilers hockey.”

MacIntyre said season ticket holders who plan on attending the February 7th game don’t need to contact the Oilers office. Fans who will not be able to go, should call the Oilers to arrange for compensation. That can include an exchange for additional tickets to a future game, or credit for this season‚ s playoff tickets.

The Oilers host the Odessa Jackalopes Friday at 7:35 p.m. For more information contact the Oilers at (918) 632-PUCK (7825).
