OK Mozart Festival Hits the Streets

OK Mozart Festival got a little promotional help from local musicians recently. Three local artists played on three different downtown street corners to help bring awareness to the June festival. Paul Benjamin, left, and friend play out front of the Atlas Building.
Jesse Aycock could be heard at 3rd and Boulder, while Wink Burchman sang songs at 5th and Main.
At the same time, OK Mozart’s Executive Director Shane Jewell spoke at Tulsa Press Club’s Page One Luncheon to not only promote the festival, but also to inform about “No Child Clef Behind.” According to their website, No Child Clef Behind utilizes OK Mozart’s 27-year history with house orchestra Amici New York, to facilitate a year-round mentoring program with elementary music students and Amici New York musicians via webcam.
