OK Mozart Kicks Off Season

OK Mozart, Oklahoma’s Premier Music Festival, officially kicked off its season with a Launch Party at the Bartlesville Community Center Feb. 25, where Executive Director Shane Jewell announced the lineup of musicians and celebrated artists for the 2010 Festival season. He also provided highlights of other specially planned activities.
The OK Mozart International Festival takes place every June in Bartlesville and is made possible through the support of the Oklahoma Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, Allied Arts & Humanities Council of Bartlesville, ConocoPhillips, , Accenture and individual, corporate and foundation patrons throughout the .
In addition to its internationally-acclaimed classical and chamber music concert series, OK Mozart presents a variety of performing arts, including dance, jazz, pops and Broadway show tunes, as well as a full program of related cultural events throughout the annual nine-day festival. These include many daytime Showcase Events, including mini-concerts, talks and tours.
OK Mozart has also announced a Spring Concert Series featuring a quartet from the Amici New York Orchestra and Robin Sutherland from the San Francisco Symphony performing. The concerts will be on a tri-city tour including Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Bartlesville, home of the OK Mozart Festival. Receptions will follow the Tulsa and Bartlesville performances so the audience may meet and talk with our guest artists.

This year, OK Mozart has added three new incredible nights of Spring Concerts plus a 2010 OK Mozart Festival lineup that promises to be even more exciting.
“We are so excited to be able to produce an off-season concert that reaches beyond the borders of Bartlesville. OK Mozart draws its audiences from around the state and region and this is a unique opportunity to bring the same quality entertainment we offer at our festival to our surrounding neighbors in Oklahoma,” Jewell says.
