Oklahoma State Equestrian Opens Season with SMU
The Oklahoma State equestrian team kicks off the 2009-10 season Saturday at 10 a.m. at Animal Science Arena with the hunt seat taking on Southern Methodist. The western team will scrimmage the Texas Tech Red Raiders and will start regular season action when the Cowgirls face New Mexico State on the October 10
th in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Last time out the Cowgirls placed third overall at the Varsity Equestrian National Championship. They are also coming off consecutive Big 12 Championships.
started off last season against with an 8-2 victory in Stillwater, and defeated them again at the opening round, 6-2.
Showing in the equitation over fences are senior Ally Blais, juniors Hannah Beresford, Alice White and Erin Prutow and sophomores Jordan White and Sarah Brown.
Last season, Blais compiled 14 wins and three s in equitation over fences with Alice White finishing the season with six.
Blais, Alice White, Brown and Jordan White are showing for the second time in equitation on the flat along with senior Jen McLaughlin and junior Laura Conley.
Blais got first place at the individual competition in equitation on the flat. She had 16 wins while Jordan White had 5 on the season last season.
