ONB Bank Group Named Top Performer Nationally

EXCELLENT BANK: Tulsa-based ONB Bank is part of the top-performing Central Bancompany, a Missouri-based bank holding company. This is the ONB location in Tulsa at 91st Street and South Yale Avenue.

Central Bancompany, a $9 billion Missouri-based bank holding company, was recently named one of the Top 25 Performers of 2008 in an article published in the June 2009 American Bankers Association Banking Journal. Tulsa-based Bank is affiliated with Central Bancompany along with 12 Missouri banks.

“We are extremely pleased to be recognized as one of the “Top 25” performing banking companies in the country,” says Bryan Cook, Central Bancompany . “We have built a foundation of people, community, technology and local management that has stood the test of time. Furthermore, it is testament to the dedication and professionalism of our more than 2,700 employees in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois and Oklahoma who serve our customers through our 13 banks and non-bank affiliates with more than 175 locations in 66 communities.”

“The way we do business is deeply rooted in our history,” Mr. Cook comments further. “Since the founding of our first bank over a century ago, we have held steadfast to our core strategies: to provide our valued customers with leading-edge financial products and to understand that we are service professionals helping people achieve their financial goals.”

To determine the rankings, The American Bankers Association () studied the performance of domestic publicly held depository institutions with assets over $3 billion as of Dec. 31, 2008. The banks, thrift institutions and bank holding companies were ranked by return on average equity for 2008. The found financial institutions that performed well in the difficult 2008 economic environment were those that excelled at relatively traditional banking activities, such as generating low-cost core deposits, making quality loans and focusing on consistent service quality.

Making this ranking even more significant is the success Central Bancompany achieved in the challenging 2008 banking environment. Nearly 67 percent of the large public banks and thrifts either qualified for or participated in the Troubled Asset Relief Program (). Central Bancompany and its 13 member banks did not require or receive any funds.
