ORU Field Athletes Enjoy Success at Sooner Open

NORMAN, Okla. – Select members of the Oral Roberts field team competed at the Sooner Open on Saturday in Norman, Okla., placing in four events.
Freshman
Jack Whitt (Norman, Okla.) claimed his third event win of the outdoor season, setting a meet record with a mark of 5.18 meters. Fellow newcomer Dustin Gehrke (Jay, Okla.) followed in third, soaring to a height of 4.78 meters.Katie Stoever (Tulsa, Okla.) posted a second-place showing in the pole vault with a mark of 3.83 meters, while fellow senior Rachel Talbert (Newton, Kan.) also finished second in the discus (55.07 meters).
The Golden Eagles begin competition in The Summit League Outdoor Championships on Thursday in Toledo, Ohio.
