ORU Pole Vaulters Shine at Wichita State
WICHITA, Kan. – The Oral Roberts University pole vaulters dominated at the Varsity Apartments Shocker Quad at Wichita State this past weekend, sweeping the events.
Freshman Jack Whitt (Norman, Okla.) won his third collegiate event with a NCAA provisional mark of 5.40 meters (17-08.50). Fellow freshman Dustin Gehrke (Jay, Okla.) placed second by soaring to a height of 5.20 meters (17-00.75), which was also a provisional qualifying mark.
Senior Katie Stoever (Tulsa, Okla.) took the top spot on the women’s side by posting a height of 4.16 meters (13-07.75) to set a new ORU school record.
The ORU track and field teams return to action this weekend at the Cyclone Classic in Ames, Iowa.
