OSU Hosts Homecoming & Hoops
STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State University will host its annual Homecoming & Hoops on Friday, Oct. 22, at 9 p.m. inside Gallagher-Iba Arena, officially kicking off the 2010-11 basketball season. The event is a joint venture by both the OSU Athletics Department and the Homecoming Student Steering Committee and is sponsored by Homeland. Admission is free.
Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams will be introduced during the event, including several newcomers. The Cowboy squad features five new players while six newcomers dot the Cowgirl roster.
Along with intrasquad scrimmages for both teams, there will also be dance competitions, group performances, and a dunking exhibition. This year’s even also features the high-flying entertainment of ACRODUNK, a popular touring act featuring a myriad of basketball theatrics.
The Cowboy Basketball team will play its first exhibition game on Mon., Nov. 1, as OSU hosts Oklahoma City at 7 pm. Oklahoma State’s first regular-season game will be Sat., Nov. 13 vs. Houston Baptist. Game time will be determined after the Cowboy football game time vs. Texas is set.
OSU’s women’s team will host East Central on Tuesday, Nov. 9, in an exhibition starting at 7 pm. The Cowgirls open the regular season on Sat., Nov. 13 against Texas Southern.
