OSU’s Keeling Earns Big 12 Honor


STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State junior Thomas Keeling has been named the Big 12 Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played March 29-April 4, it was announced by the league today.

Keeling, a product of Ropesville, Texas, earned the first Big 12 Conference win of his career in last Friday’s series opener against Nebraska, an 8-2 victory. The southpaw tossed 7.1 scoreless innings, allowing only four hits and racking up 11 strikeouts, just one shy of his career high. He struck out at least one batter in each of the eight innings in which he appeared, and he recorded multiple strikeouts in the second, third and seventh innings.

Keeling leads the Cowboys with 52 strikeouts in 34.1 innings this season and is averaging 13.63 strikeouts per nine innings.

The pitcher of the week award marks the first in Keeling’s career and is the first time this season an player has earned a weekly award from the conference.
