OSU-Tulsa Professor to Discuss Data Mining Research and Its Rise in Popularity


From identifying a consumer’s purchase habits or the retention rate of students to predicting cancer survivability or the financial success a movie, data mining has become a very popular tool for many industries.

Dr. Dursun Delen, -Tulsa associate professor of management science and information systems, will present “Data Mining Demystified” on Thursday, April 14 at noon in North Hall 150. He will discuss how researchers and other professionals use data and text mining applications to analyze large quantities of information for better decision making.

The Faculty Research Excellence Series is presented by the -Tulsa Library. Attendees may bring their own sack lunch to the presentation or reserve on for $8.95 by calling 918-594-8133 by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12.
