OSU-Tulsa to Host Sip for Sight Wine Tasting Gala


TULSA (April 7, 2010) – Oklahoma State University-Tulsa will host the 19th annual Sip for Sight fundraiser Saturday, April 17 at 7 p.m. in the Main Hall Commons.

The wine tasting gala and silent auction benefits Prevent Blindness Oklahoma, a non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to preserving sight and preventing blindness. Guests will enjoy wine offerings from more than 70 different vintners, as well as cuisine from many of Tulsa’s finest restaurants.

Established in 1965, Prevent Blindness of Oklahoma is a volunteer organization dedicated exclusively to preserving sight and preventing blindness, providing thousands of free vision screenings and other sight-saving programs to children in all 77 Oklahoma counties every year. During the 2009-2010 school year, the organization will provide screenings to more than 250,000 Oklahoma children.

Wines will be available for tasting from several wineries including Alexander Valley, Banfi Vintners, Beringer, Bogle, Broquel, Casillero del Diablo, Castello di Monastero, Chandon, Charles Krug, Chateau St. Jean, Covey Run, Far Niente, Geyser Park, Glazebrook, Guenoc, Harlow Ridge, Hugel, Joullian Vineyards, King Estate, Kitchen Sink, Moscato di Pantelleria, Napa Ridge, North by Northwest, Pedroncelli Winery, Rosenblum Cellars, San Angelo, Santi, Snap Dragon, Trivento, Vertikal, Villa Pozzi, Viu Manet, Williamette Valley Vineyards and Wily Jack. A beer garden will feature ales from Hacker-Pschorr, St. Peter’s and Rogue.

Participating restaurants include Bodean Seafood, El Caballo Mexican Grille, Celebrity Restaurant, The Chalkboard, Charleston’s, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, The French Hen, The Garlic Rose, The Green Onion, KEO Asian Cuisine, Leon’s, Ludger’s Cakes, The Melting Pot and Polo Grill.
