OSU-Tulsa to Provide Weekend Parking for Drillers

TULSA (March 11, 2010)—Oklahoma State University-Tulsa will provide on-campus parking for Tulsa Drillers’ fans during weekend games at ONEOK Field when the season opens next month.

-Tulsa President Howard Barnett said Drillers’ fans will be permitted to park at -Tulsa for Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday games. No parking will be allowed Monday through Thursday.

“We’re excited to have the Drillers and the impressive ONEOK Field as our neighbors,” Barnett said. “The City of Tulsa has made a significant investment to attract the Drillers to help grow downtown Tulsa. This is an opportunity for -Tulsa to support that growth and help draw the community to the historic Greenwood District.”

In addition, -Tulsa will provide parking for Drillers’ employees for all games.

“We have extra parking available on campus, and most of the employee traffic will arrive after peak class times have started,” Barnett said. “We look forward to this partnership with the Drillers.”

As part of the agreement, -Tulsa will receive promotional considerations from the Drillers.

Ron Bussert, vice president for administration and finance, said the Drillers will remove trash in -Tulsa parking lots following weekend games. -Tulsa staff will also be working with the Drillers to get parking information distributed to their fan base and will develop signage for game-day traffic. Bussert said the university will monitor the parking and traffic situation, making adjustments in the future as needed.

ONEOK Field is located at 201 North Elgin, just south of I-244 and the -Tulsa campus. The Drillers’ season kicks off April 8. For ticket and schedule information, visit tulsadrillers.com.
