OSU Wraps Up KSU Invitational
MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Oklahoma State track and field team wrapped up its first indoor competition of 2011 Saturday, as the men’s and women’s teams competed at the KSU Invitational at Kansas State University.
Several OSU athletes competed on both the men’s and women’s side, as each squad recorded dual scores against Kansas State, UMKC andTulsa.
The women’s performance was highlighted by a trio of second-place finishes, including Kendra Woodson in the one-mile run with a time of 5:01.34, Clarissa Andrews in the long jump with a mark of 5.78 meters and Andrews in the triple jump with a mark of 11.98 meters.
Second-place finishes also highlighted the Cowboys’ day, as Shane Moskowitz finished the 800-meter run in 1:55.32 and Kirubel Erassa finished the mile run in 4:13.47.
Other notable finishes included Brandi Andrews’ third-place finish in the women’s 88-meter run, Teran Mixon’s third-place finish in the women’s mile run and Jacob Benn’s third-place finish in the men’s mile run.
The Cowgirls finished the day with a 1-2 dual record, defeating Tulsa by nine points, while the Cowboys went 0-3.
OSU returns to competition next weekend, traveling to Norman, Okla., for the J.D. Martin Invitational.
