OSUIT to Showcase Opportunities at Women in Technology Event

Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology will host the 3rd Annual “Women in Technology” event on Friday, Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the OSUIT campus. The event will expose participants to the excellent career opportunities for talented women interested in high-paying, technology-driven fields.
Prospective students will engage in activities and demonstrations to better understand the academic and skill requirements for career opportunities available through OSUIT. In addition, various industry representatives will be in attendance—the same people who hire OSUIT graduates.
Those who attend will select a “career track” which will pair up academic areas based on the similar skill sets and abilities required to succeed. This method will allow participants to be introduced to high-paying, stable careers that a female student might not typically explore.
Ina Agnew, OSUIT’s vice president of enrollment management said, “With the ‘Women in Technology’ event, our goal is to break down stereotypes and show females that there are many opportunities available to them in careers that they might not traditionally consider. The industries that are represented at this event provide stable, high-paying careers with quick advancement for females.”
Online registration for Women in Technology is free, fast and easy. Pre-registration is required and can be found at www.osuit.edu/wit. If you would like more information, please contact the special events office at OSUIT at 918-293-5220 or email at tabitha@okstate.edu.
