‘Outsiders’ Star to Appear at Tulsa Pop Culture Expo

PROMOTING MAGIC: Arthur Greeno, fundraising chair for the Tulsa Pop Culture Expo, was a recent visitor to the Gathering Place with his wife Noell and daughter Sydney. Speaking of the Expo, Greeno says, “This was a joint effort between 918 shuttles and Tours of Tulsa to make this a reality. When companies come together that want to benefit the community, it’s where the magic happens.”
Tulsa Pop Kids is excited to announce C. Thomas Howell will be joining the event for Tulsa Pop Culture Expo.
Howell is known for his role as PonyBoy in Francis Ford Coppola’s classic The Outsiders, Red Dawn and his current projects Ray Donovan, Stitchers and Outcast.
In addition to Howell’s appearance at Tulsa Pop Culture Expo, a one-half to two-hour tour will take visitors to five or six locations where the Outsiders movie was filmed in Tulsa. The Outsiders House Movie Tour is an exclusive Tulsa Pop Culture Expo event. Attendees must have a convention ticket to be eligible to purchase this exclusive tour.
This will be a unique opportunity to spend time with C. Thomas Howell, who will give live commentary about his movie shoot where he tells tales from his time with Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, Emilio Estevez, Ralph Machio and many others.
On this tour, guests will receive a commemorative T-shirt, lanyard and badge, and a special backstage tour of the inside of the Outsiders House as it nears completion. Shuttles will be provided by 918 shuttles, and Tour of Tulsa will aid in making this event rich in history that visitors will never forget.
All the proceeds from the tours will go to the Outsiders House Museum.
C. Thomas Howell will be joining previously announced guests, Zach Callison of Stephen Universe, Just Add Magic, and The Zach Callison Show (in production); John Schneider from Dukes of Hazzard and Smallville, actress Karen Gillan from such movies as Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Jumanji and Doctor Who; Summer Glau from Firefly, Arrow, and Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Butch Patrick known as Eddie Munster from The Munsters. Butch will also be bringing the hot rods, Munster Koach and Dragula for fans to enjoy. Stay tuned for more announcements in the coming weeks.
Tulsa Pop Kids, Game Festival and OKPOP are partnering together to bring the public the Tulsa Pop Culture Expo hosting Oklahoma Pop Culture to nationally recognized actors and comic industry pros, to the best gaming around.
“Tulsa needs a big convention with big celebrities” says Ron Veit, president of Tulsa Pop Kids. “Bringing the magic of the movies to Tulsa and knowing how our convention touches lives is what we are about.”
Tulsa Pop Kids Inc. was created to provide support within the community to promote literacy programs for children through pop culture and entertainment.
