Overweight Children Face Challenges

As a child gets older, facing the trials of life is a challenge. With obesity on the rise in the United States, overweight children face even more challenges, with potentially deadly consequences. Excessive weight gain can significantly increase a child’s risk for acquiring diseases such as cancer, heart disease, high-blood pressure, stroke, arthritis, asthma, and diabetes. Albertsons has made a commitment to combat childhood obesity by helping kids in need, guiding them to a healthy future through school tours available to kids as well as nutritional advice from Albertsons Registered Dietitian Diane Peck who is available to shoppers at no cost by phone, email and in-store. Peck can be reached via email at diane.peck@albertsons.com or by phone at (817) 568-3912 or 1(888) SHOP-ALB to answer customer questions or to schedule a tour or lecture.
