Ozone ALERT! 20th Season Kick-Off Today
TULSA, Okla. – The 20 season of Ozone ALERT! will be officially launched today at 11:30 a.m. The event will take place at the Refinery Deck of the new ONEOK Field. The program will feature The Honorable Susan Savage Oklahoma Secretary of State, Dr. Khristina Kline, Medical Director for the Tulsa City County Health Department, Jim Bacchman, Plant Manager for Lafarge, and John Selph, Chairman of the INCOG Board of Directors. Mr. Selph will also throw out the first pitch of the game between the Tulsa Drillers and Northwest Arkansas.
This annual event is held to kick-off the season and to encourage increased participation from Ozone ALERT! partners. This year the EPA is proposing tighter air quality standards so this year becomes very critical in citizen participation to avoid being placed on the “dirty air” list. Approximately 160 people will be in attendance to this invitation-only event.
All media are welcome to attend. A special area will be designated for cameras and other media participation.
