Peter Uihlein Named All-American
OOLTEWAH, Tenn. – Oklahoma State’s Peter Uihlein was one of 11 players named
a First-Team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America it
was announced following the stroke-play portion of the Championship.
UIhlein received the honor after putting together a campaign which featured
three victories and a pair of runner-up finishes. The Orlando, Fla., native
won twice in the fall, claiming medalist honors at the Ping/Golfweek
Invitational as well as the Gifford Collegiate.
The sophomore also won the Southeast Regional title while helping the
Cowboys to their fifth team title of the year.
In addition to his three victories, Uihlein finished second at the Big 12
Championship in April as well as the Championship this week. A two-time
Big 12 Golfer of the Month pick, he was also a semifinalist for the Ben
Hogan Award and an all-conference selection.
Uihlein was one of four Cowboys named to the All-Central Region squad as
well and was joined by senior Trent Whitekiller, junior Kevin Tway and
sophomore Morgan Hoffmann.
