When OK Mozart holds its 23rd season in Bartlesville June 8-16, pianist Leon Fleisher will appear as guest artist and conductor with Amici New York on the final day. Those who love an improbably happy ending will want to attend. They will also want to cheer.

Cascia Hall Grad Bringing Elephant Man to Tulsa
The elephant man is coming to Tulsa. With luck, he’ll start a tradition.
The story of Joseph Merrick, a Victorian-era Englishman who suffered from a severe physical abnormality recently diagnosed as proteus syndrome, was made into a Tony Award-winning play in 1979 and a hugely popular movie with Anthony Hopkins and John Hurt a year later. Soon a production of the play will serve as the inaugural presentation in Tulsa of the Emergent Theatre Company.

Tulsa Boys Spring Concert
The Tulsa Boy Singers will present their Annual Spring Concert on Friday and Saturday, June 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 5th and Cincinnati. The Tulsa Boy Singers is the oldest choral group in existence in Tulsa, having started in 1948. Casey Cantwell, Artistic Director of the Tulsa Boy Singers will direct the concerts.

Williams Unveils Two Murals for Oklahoma’s Centennial
Williams announced the unveiling of two mosaic murals by Tulsa artist Linda Allen in celebration of the Oklahoma Centennial. The murals are placed on the Williams Center Green at Third Street and Boston Avenue and are the first two of seven being created by Allen.

Dfest Names Keynote Speaker
Oklahoma’s largest music conference and festival has announced the keynote speaker for the upcoming Dfest conference to be held in Tulsa in the Blue Dome district July 27-28. Ken Abdo, is part of the Grammy Foundation. He is the National Chairman of the Recording Academy’s Entertainment Law Initiative (ELI). The Recording Academy is the presenter of the Grammy® Awards and ELI is a part of the Grammy® Foundation. ELI’s executive committee is comprised of the nation’s most prominent music lawyers and is the music/lawyer wing of the Recording Academy.

LeAnn Rimes Performance
STAR PERFORMER: As part of the SemGroup Championship, LeAnn Rimes performed a private concert at the Renaissance Hotel on May 5.
The 24-year-old singer became an instant star over 11 years ago when her song “Blue” hit the radio. Since then she has sold 37 million albums, recorded nine studio albums and is the youngest musician to win a Grammy.
