Madonna House Fashion Show
The 17th annual Madonna House Mother/Child Tea, Fashion Show and Silent Auction is scheduled for Sat. Feb. 10 at Southern Hills Country Club.
The 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. event benefits Madonna House, which provides a safe environment for pregnant women and women with newborn babies. Madonna House is an agency of Catholic Charities.
Crescendo Music Awards Presented February 22-24
Talented musicians will compete for $34,500 in awards money when the eighth annual Crescendo Music Awards will be presented Feb. 22 through 24.
Tulsa Artist Exhibits at PAC
Tulsa artist Doug Bauer’s contemporary art show will continue at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center gallery through Jan. 29.
Bauer, a one-time actor (Quantum Leap) and now real estate broker, has had his works exhibited in over a dozen shows in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Norman and Santa Fe. His work is in many private collections.
Organ Society Makes Silent Films Sound Glorious
The other day Douglas Fairbanks stood ready, a sword in his right hand, his left arm protectively around the beautiful Billie Dove, to stand off an army of oafs, louts, villains and generally nasty people – just as he had 80 years ago when his movie “The Black Pirate” premiered to rapturous reviews in New York City. Alas, the ice storm delayed his mighty deeds and the movie was postponed.
Celebrity Attractions Announces 2007-2008 Shows
Erik is returning to Tulsa and with him comes a very heavy anchor for Celebrity Attraction’s Larry Payton.
Erik, as you may know, is that hideously disfigured but supremely voiced gentleman who lives in the sewers under the Paris Opera House and is known as the Phantom of the Opera. For Payton it will be a treasured reunion.
‘On Golden Pond’ National Tour Comes to Tulsa
The National Tour of “On Golden Pond,” starring Tom Bosley and Michael Learned, makes its Tulsa premiere Jan. 9-14, 2007 at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Presented by Celebrity Attractions and welcomed by Bank of Oklahoma, “On Golden Pond” remains one of the most produced plays in the world, with performances in more than 40 countries and translations in 25 languages.
Oklahoma Authors Hosted at Harweldon
The Tulsa Press Club hosted the second annual Oklahoma, Ink Book Fair Nov. 30 at Harwelden, 2210 S. Main St. in Tulsa. The free event was open to the public.
Dos Rios Pottery Recalls Classic Forms, Techniques
It takes two to tango, two heads are better than one and get two for the price of one are all clichés relevant to Dos Rios Pottery, the newest arrival to Tulsa’s arts community. The name for the new ceramics studio is Spanish for two rivers and it is the perfect name for a 26-year collaboration between Frank Campbell and Barbara Buell.

Philbrook Glows During Festival of Trees
Philbrook Museum of Art’s 2006 Festival of Trees celebrated the Oklahoma Centennial starting Nov. 19 with major additions and changes for this holiday season. Decorated trees surrounded the rotunda with a spectacular old-fashioned ornament tree in the center. Artistic creations by 200 artists were exhibited throughout the museum and outside in the holiday-lit gardens. Gingerbread houses by area school children surrounded the upper mezzanine.

Oklahoma Aquarium Extends Turtle Special
The Oklahoma Aquarium is in the giving spirit and has extended the 2-For-1 Tuesdays and Turtle Tours through December.
Every Tuesday through December, the Oklahoma Aquarium is offering one free admission with each paid admission. The two majestic Loggerhead Sea Turtles, not yet on display, can be seen every half hour for just a $2 suggested donation. The Oklahoma Aquarium is also open late, till 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, to make this experience more convenient.

Holiday Home Benefits Little Light House
This holiday season the Little Light House experienced an exciting new fundraising effort called “Holiday Home.” A beautiful 3,000 sq. ft. single-family home has been built in the Reserve at Harvard Ponds subdivision and all proceeds from the sale of the house will be donated to The Little Light House. This home was fully decked-out in Christmas boutique through Dec. 17.
VCI Entertainment Awards Tulsan’s Short Film
The film is only 13 minutes long, but it has made a winner out of Tommy Wallace.
Wallace, who is beginning his own public relations and advertising firm under the name of Wallace Productions, heard last year that VCI Entertainment of Tulsa was hosting a short film competition for Oklahoma film makers. The idea was that the films had to be less than 30 minutes in length and could be no cruder than a PG-13 type film.
