Golden ‘Cane Honors TU Athletes
The University of Tulsa recognized its athletic teams and student-athletes recently at the school’s 15th Annual Golden ‘Cane Awards Dinner at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The top awards were given to TU’s “Ultimate Team” members, the “Ultimate Service” Award as well as athlete of the year awards for respective sports.

The Tulsa Drillers may not have the best record in the Texas League, but they certainly know how to throw a party.

Bike MS Set for September
: The Tulsa Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society recently kicked off the 25th Annual Bike MS Oklahoma Ride. Early registration, food and fun celebrated the event that provides funding for multiple sclerosis research. Cyclists, volunteers and those affected by MS were present.
Rt. 66 Marathon Recognized
The Williams Route 66 Marathon, in its fifth year, is the recipient of a second place award recognizing the best marathon medals in the United States. Marathon and Beyond, a bimonthly magazine designed for runners of marathons and ultramarathons, conducted the nationwide medal competition.
Shocking Time for Tulsa
ELECTRIFYING CHARGE: The Tulsa Shock has landed on Tulsa to become Tulsa’s first major league team. The Shock provides high-energy entertainment with the unique style of basketball head coach Nolan Richardson professes. The team played their historic first game at the Center May 15, an 80-74 loss to the Minnesota Lynx.

The Milwaukee Iron take first place in the Coaches Poll after comfortably defeating the previously unbeaten Chicago Rush. The Rush drop to No. 3, which is the lowest Chicago has been ranked all season. The Jacksonville Sharks nabbed the No. 2 spot, their highest rank this season. All three teams are 4-1.
