Oklahoma City Thunder guard Kyle Weaver was re-assigned to the Tulsa 66ers, the Thunder’s D-League affiliate, it was announced today. The re-assignment is the 38th time an player has been assigned to an D-League affiliate during the 2009-10 D-League season and the third for Weaver.

Once upon a time there was a team called the Tulsa Oilers who played in a wonderland called Texas League Park in the Fairgrounds just west of Driller Park. It was a wonderful old park, a project that opened in 1934. It was a wooden structure with 48 poles supporting the roof and causing patrons to swing their heads from side to side as they tried to get an unrestricted view of the action.
