Tulsan Bob Carpenter Honored in Washington
Bob Carpenter enjoys the moment. For the first time in his 39 years of broadcasting, he was named Co-Sportscaster of the Year (with Joe Beninati of hockey’s Washington Capitals) for the District of Columbia area. “I guess,” he laughs, “the longer you stick around the more you start collecting awards.” As pleased as he is with his award, he seems equally happy with a similar nod given Tulsa Golden Hurricane voice Bruce Howard. “In Oklahoma, I just don’t think Tulsa-area sportscasters get their due. I’m happy for Bruce.”
Boat, Sport & Travel Show Makes Waves
TULSA : The 2015 Tulsa Boat, Sport and Travel Show took place Feb. 2-8 at the River Spirit Expo at Expo Square, with an increased attendance of 21 percent over last year, says Jennifer Maricle, show manager. Standing with Maricle is Kevin McClure, of Grand Lake Boat Sales. Preparations for next year’s 60th anniversary show are already underway, to be held Feb. 1-6, 2016.

The Credit Union, provider of financial services, sponsored The Best Field Trip Ever for the tenth time at Oral Roberts University. The event took place this season during the vs. S.W. Christian women’s game. Admission was free to all who attended.
