March Brings Music, Theatre and Mia Farrow to the PAC
There is more to see and do in Tulsa than one can possibly keep up with, but if you are an arts person, or just curious, I hope you have a chance to attend Tulsa Opera’s Elmer Gantry, Feb. 28 and Mar. 2. This Grammy Award-winning American opera, based on the 1926 novel by Sinclair Lewis, showcases extraordinary talent. I believe this production will be a landmark for Tulsa Opera.
Jenks Students to Perform Disney’s Tarzan the Musical

Jenks High School to Perform Tarzan
Based on Edgar Rice Burrough’s Tarzan of the Apes and the smash-hit 1999 Disney animated film, Tarzan tells the story of an infant boy orphaned on the shores of West Africa. Taken in and raised by a tribe of gorillas, the young boy strives for acceptance by his ape father while grappling with his uniqueness. When a human expedition enters their territory, Tarzan – now a man – encounters strangers like himself for the first time.

Keller Williams Brings Funk to Cain’s
Funk returns to Cain’s Ballroom on Feb. 27 in the form of Keller Williams, a musician who is no stranger to Tulsa’s historic hall.
“You can feel the music dripping off the walls,” he says. “A lot of music has been in that room. It’s a joy to be there.”
Annual Tulsa Gridiron Set for Feb. 7-8
Nothing is off limits this year as the Tulsa Gridiron takes a humorous look at the issues, events, and personalities of power and prestige in politics and cultural events of the day including Gov. Mary Fallin, the Obamas, and, of course, Kathy Taylor and Dewey Bartlett…. and more. The show will be at 8 p.m. Feb. 7 and 8 in the Liddy Doenges Theatre of the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Proceeds from the show provide scholarships for journalism and communications students at local and state universities.
MTUL to Feature Oklahoma Chief Justice
The Metropolitan Tulsa Urban League () will celebrate 60 years of empowering the community at its upcoming Diamond Jubilee Gala on Feb. 22 at the Downtown Doubletree Hotel. Chief Justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court Tom Colbert will be the keynote speaker.
